I think my mate may be doing drugs. I see her at the school gate with older girls and she’s started to act weirdly. How can I call her out on it without making her angry?

Drugs aren’t just an issue for the user, they can also have an impact on family and friends. Try not to be judgemental or confront your pal as she may get defensive. Instead, talk to her alone and tell her that you’ve noticed a change in her. If she’s not ready to talk, don’t force the issue, but make it clear you’re there for her if she needs you. Hopefully, it won’t be long before she opens up, but keep an eye on the situation. If she does have a drug problem, encourage her to talk to an adult, as it’s too big a deal for the two of you to handle alone. And if she won’t discuss it, you may need to approach a trusted adult yourself. She may not thank you for it at first but, in the long run, you’ll be doing her a favour.
